It's worth how much?!! How to avoid your treasures ending up as trash! - Wishes

It's worth how much?!! How to avoid your treasures ending up as trash!

As a family, we've been having some very interesting "death" conversations as we all complete our own Wishes books.  Husbands and wives, aunts, uncles, sisters and mothers have all been completing their Wishes books as we plan to leave each other supported and enlightened, for when we eventually pass.

One topic that was discussed was art.  In my house I have a number of oil paintings on display -  absolutely worthless - but special as these were painted by my great-aunt.  I would love these paintings to be passed onto my cousins, or other family members that have a connection with my aunt, but if they end up in the op shop because no-one wants/likes them, then so be it!

My mother-in-law also has art on display at her house.  These beautiful Asian pieces had been purchased overseas, so I had assumed they were a cheap but beautiful souvenir, to remind my in-laws of their travels.  It turns out that these pieces of art - cloisonné - are actually quite pricy and not something that should be dropped off at the op shop should no-one want them!!

These conversations are worth having, but if you are uncomfortable about sharing with your family how much you've spent on pottery, then use this book to record this information for your family, so those pieces of art you love (but your family loathe!) end up being sold to someone who appreciates it, rather than being dropped off to the local thrift shop to be on-sold for $1!
